Mowbray Park Riding Holiday Camps

For over 30 years Mowbray Park has been introducing children to the joy of horses and horse riding.

Within the safety of our round yard, arena yard and gymkhana paddock, children from the age of 10 yrs up to 16 yrs learn how to be safe around horses and to build confidence around these beautiful animals.

Mowbray Park camps are focused on natural horsemanship and our camp is an introduction to this sublime art.

We introduce the children to partnering strategies designed to broaden their understanding of the relationship between humans and horses. 

All of this is to introduce to the children the importance and joy of a ‘soft hand’ to enhance the experience not only in the saddle but from the ground and this is all about safety both for rider and the horse.

The Mowbray Park camps still enjoy those activities for which the farm is well known, activities such as the ‘trust and initiative course’ hay rides, trips to the nursery, billy tea and damper and of course the trail ride picnic.
Your son or daughter will be cared for by mature adults during their stay and will enjoy a variety of healthy foods (the tuck shop will satisfy other needs).

Please be aware that our ride camps are focused on natural horsemanship and that each day is a small but progressive step towards the understanding of this skill.

We will be studying natural horsemanship via written material and DVD, so we stress that this is not a holiday camp per se, but an intensive, thoroughly rewarding natural horsemanship camp.

The camp duration is four nights five days.
Aim to arrive for a 10.00am start on the first day.
On our last day arrive at 1.00pm
We will all get together and share some stories and look back over a great week.

Cost of the camp is $690.00 including GST. This includes all meals, 24hour supervision, farm activities (and a horse) for the 5 days.

Farm Experience Camp For those who want a hands on farm experience 8 to 16 yrs Five days fully supervised. These camps run during school holidays. The Farm Experience Camp is great value, fun and learning combine to create an unforgettable experience.  Each and every day the children will experience what farming life is all about. They will get to enjoy all the activities that Mowbray Park has to offer as well. A truly rewarding five days guided by Mowbray Park staff, the children will eat well (special dietary needs catered for) and they will sleep well after each day out on the farm. As with the Ride camps the children will be in the one lodge and camp leaders will sleep in the same lodge $550.00 includes GST (and a horse ride)  Next Farm Experience Camp:  4th - 8th October 2010 You will be busy! You will work alongside the farmers each morning at the nursery, help with our animals, assist setting the camp fires, you will get to experience leading ponies, mucking out the yards even going for a trail ride yourself. There will be plenty of time for swimming and loads of other fun such as canoeing, archery, tennis, movies and much more.
